Tara Westover and her family grew up preparing for the End of Days but, according to the government, she didn’t exist. She hadn’t been registered for a birth certificate. She had no school records because she’d never set foot in a classroom, and no medical records because her father didn’t believe in hospitals.
As she grew older, her father became more radical and her brother more violent. At sixteen, Tara knew she had to leave home. In doing so she discovered both the transformative power of education, and the price she had to pay for it.

評分##文筆算不上多好 但是故事很生動 我們沒辦法選擇自己的齣身 自己的傢庭和父母 唯一能做的 也就是給自己拼一個未來 想起之前讀過的god is not great. 有些宗教信仰真的不算好.

評分##8分 / Tara Westover形容之前的自己怯懦崩潰自我懷疑是一個腐爛掉的人，惡臭熏天。在Educated這本書裏她用瞭一個詞來講改變「remade」，重塑自我。先找齣你的能力所在，然後再決定你是誰。她有著強大的元認知能力，不斷自我反省、調節、平衡、前進。Tara進入劍橋的項目後她的導師是Jonathan Steinberg，比喻她是蕭伯納的茶花女。她隻是一個穿著漂亮衣服的倫敦人，直到她相信自己，那時她穿什麼衣服已經無關緊要瞭。
評分##花瞭近一個月、終於讀完瞭，真好看啊！！ 作者的語言太美瞭，故事更是驚人。雖然時常聽到對真實性的懷疑，但我個人對其沒有異見。在我看來，她的敘述太有力量瞭，這種力量，隻能來自於親身經曆後的痛徹心扉。
評分##They are more complicated than the roles they are assigned in stories. What she has undergone and achieved is such encouraging and uplifting. I identified with Tara Westover for the most part.
