Abe Ravitz, Cleveland Plain Dealer
"An intellectual heavyweight and a pure literary virtuoso, Milan Kundera takes some of Freud's most cherished complexes and irreverently whirls them about in acts of legerdemain that capture our darkest, deepest human passionsThe tales in Laughable Loves surprise and illuminateKundera's world is complex, full of mockeries and paradoxes. Life is often brutal and humiliating; it is often blasphemous, funny, irritating."
评分##最喜欢的是hitchhiker和eduard两篇,昆德拉对人性和反讽的拿捏淋漓尽致,是他在art of the novel里自吹的那种comical tragedy where grandeur, and thus hope, are taken away. 昆德拉此人very modern on the one hand and surprisingly anti-modern on the other,实在难以捉摸。

评分##It's always amazing to see the reasonable distance Milan Kundra holds from life, which allows his sober anatomy of life and love, of youth and age, of individual and party, of presence and history... It's thoughts-provoking, as always.
评分##Please keep him in your memory with this smile
