作者简介

Harper Lee (born April 28, 1926) is an American author known for her 1961 Pulitzer-Prize-winning novel To Kill a Mockingbird, which deals with the issues of racism that the author observed as a child in her hometown of Monroeville, Alabama. Despite being Lee's only published book, it led to her being awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for her contribution to literature. Lee has received numerous honorary degrees but has always declined to make a speech. Other significant contributions include assisting her close friend Truman Capote in his research for the book In Cold Blood.

当一本书脱离了时代，也能有其自身的生命力和多重被解读性的话，便会生出种种遭遇来。本书也经常被人滑稽地“利用”，并见诸报章之上。调查克林顿绯闻的独立检察官斯塔尔曾发表演说，自比阿蒂克斯·芬奇律师，而希拉里的回忆录《亲历历史》中，也特意指出“芬奇律师展现的是道德勇气，而斯塔尔却是滥用权力”。希拉里咬牙切齿道：“如此相比令人难以忍受。”后来又传出消息说，成为美军阶下囚的萨达姆最爱读的就是本书，这是他的律师送给他的，据说萨达姆“喜欢为冤屈者伸张正义的主人公”。

《杀死一只知更鸟》属于那种比较老式的电影，影片有一种让人难以想象的真实感。影片中充满了对过去那种时代的缅怀之情，我们甚至能从电影中感受到那个时代的勇气与怀疑。一方面充满了浪漫主义色彩，另一方面又深受当时现实主义的影响，宛若一丝光明穿越黑暗的森林引领我们去寻找真理。影片根据哈伯。李的同名小说改编而成，格里高利。派克电影生涯中最具代表的作品之一。《杀死一只知更鸟》是好莱坞60年代初自由主义的先声。当时正值美国国内黑人与白人矛盾冲突激化之际，电影虽然说的是经济大萧条时的事情，其实正是影射当时国内的现状。
