作者簡介

Syd Hoff was born and raised in New York City. He studied at the National Academy of Design and sold his first cartoon to The New Yorker when he was eighteen. He eventually became one of the most original and beloved authors and illustrators of children's books. Mr. Hoff wrote more than fifty books for children, including the I Can Read titles Danny and the Dinosaur, Oliver, and Sammy the Seal.

"After a long sea voyage, Oliver the elephant gets off the boat and learns that he doesn't have a job in the circus. He heads out seeking employment first at the zoo and then as a peanut vendor. Neither works out, so he tries being a pet. Finally Oliver heads to the park where he meets a group of kids. After playing awhile, they all contemplate what they would like to do. Oliver, who wants to be a dancing elephant, starts to strut his stuff. He is so good that people don't pay attention to the passing circus parade. Finally Oliver gets the job that he wants and deserves. The text is simple and the illustrations are a delight, but the book is a bit long for kids just starting to read. 小冊子很方便，適閤啓濛。質量沒的說，價錢很實惠。好！！Oliver has always wanted to be a dancing elephant，but what will he do when he discovers the circus already has enough elephants?

還不錯吧，不過還沒看起來。這套書是誰的書單裏來著的，因為買瞭幾本恐龍的，看起來不錯，所以也把這幾本入瞭。不過總的來說，還是價格偏高，孩子看書快承擔不起啦~喜歡並且反復看的還好，否則就浪費瞭。隻能趁著活動囤瞭。
