The bride – The plus one – The best man – The wedding planner – The bridesmaid – The body
On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising television star. The bride: smart and ambitious, a magazine publisher. It’s a wedding for a magazine, or for a celebrity: the designer dress, the remote location, the luxe party favors, the boutique whiskey. The cell phone service may be spotty and the waves may be rough, but every detail has been expertly planned and will be expertly executed.
But perfection is for plans, and people are all too human. As the champagne is popped and the festivities begin, resentments and petty jealousies begin to mingle with the reminiscences and well wishes. The groomsmen begin the drinking game from their school days. The bridesmaid not-so-accidentally ruins her dress. The bride’s oldest (male) friend gives an uncomfortably caring toast.
And then someone turns up dead. Who didn’t wish the happy couple well? And perhaps more important, why?

##本來以為是東方快車謀殺案式的。。。情節有點拖遝，前麵鋪墊太多，能看下去主要是因為想看自己的推測對不對，還有個重要的原因是用詞簡單[捂臉]，絕大多數高中詞匯，有些英式用語看著看著也就明白瞭

評分##情節太一般瞭，文筆實在是太差瞭。跟讀書俱樂部入的坑。必須看看阿特伍德和石黑一雄洗洗眼睛。
評分##It’s poisonous. Vulgarly written. Without F*bombs the author couldn’t carry out functional conversations. The rowdy structure did not help with the tension she tried to force upon our readers. The whole thing just gave me headache reading it. What a waste to use Ireland as her book setting.
