Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Simon is actually being blackmailed: if he doesn’t play wingman for class clown Martin, his sexual identity will become everyone’s business. Worse, the privacy of Blue, the pen name of the boy he’s been emailing, will be compromised.
With some messy dynamics emerging in his once tight-knit group of friends, and his email correspondence with Blue growing more flirtatious every day, Simon’s junior year has suddenly gotten all kinds of complicated. Now, change-averse Simon has to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before he’s pushed out—without alienating his friends, compromising himself, or fumbling a shot at happiness with the most confusing, adorable guy he’s never met.

評分##3.5/5 A pretty cutsy love story between two teenage boys that happened mostly online. I really enjoyed most part of the book, and trust me, sometimes a sweet story is all some of us crave. The problem is that the ending is rather cloying that it makes the whole story kind of cheesy and distasteful.

評分其實很早就明白Blue是誰（還去查瞭一下美國曆屆總統的名字，在某個瞬間還經曆瞭和Simon一樣的恐慌），等到揭露之後我臉上的笑就沒停過，哎呀可愛可愛可愛！

評分##小說裏提到Simon懷疑過Blue會不會就是Martin，我看電影的時候真的也一度這麼猜想過...並且也挺心疼和喜歡Martin這個角色，但在小說裏其實不隻是他，很多配角都沒能像電影改編那樣有閃光點，並且Blue現身的後續情節雖然比電影豐富但也甜膩得讓人有點想翻白眼【
