作者简介

Hugh Honour is one of the leading art historians of the 20th century. He is co-author with Nikolaus Pevsner and John Fleming of The Penguin Dictionary of Architecture.

John Fleming founded and edited with Hugh Honour the Pelican Style and Civilization series. He died on 29 May 2001.

艺术, 充斥着我们的日常生活, 它是美的值得我们去感受。生活中到处都是艺术, 只不 过我们缺少发现艺术的眼睛罢了。 同时, 艺术有时还可以激发我们的心灵灵感, 比如当我们 落寞时可以欣赏艺术来抚慰受伤的心灵;当我们绝望时可以感受那些艺术家们的心酸与苦 难,我们就会发现与那些艺术家相比自己其实还是比较幸福的。刚刚读完《艺术的故事》最 后一章, 作者贡布里希先生用了一个反问句作为结尾。 这让我在读后也出现了一系列的问号。 其中了解到西方的一个艺术家对贡布里希评价说, “我一直认为艺术史对于艺术家来说, 就 像鸟类学对于鸟一样。 ” 这句话是什么意思呢?鸟其实根本就不懂鸟类学。 艺术史学者他们 爱说什么就说什么, 跟艺术家本人无关。 艺术史家写的书基本上都是写给同行看的, 或者是 写给有兴趣的人看的,而艺术家对这些不大有兴趣。但是 《艺术的故事》 出版以后非常受欢 迎,其中很大一部分的读者都是史学家。 我们读《艺术的故事》扉页上写的评论就能够感受 到这种气氛。英国有一个著名的奖项特纳奖, 是由一些艺术家获得的, 这些艺术家提到,是 什么打开了他们艺术家之路的呢?就是这本书《艺术的故事》。
