作者简介

Stephen Farthing is a painter and the Rootstein Hopkins Research Professor in Drawing at the University of the Arts, London. He has been teaching fine arts since 1977 and his paintings are exhibited in galleries throughout the world.

印刷质量和用纸都很好，只是在内容方面有些可大可小问题，1001副作品确实都是比较出名的画，但是有不少是著名的失败作品，是美术史的反面教材，而作者介绍中均未提及这一点，不适合用作初学者的启蒙教材。1001幅作品中现代派和印象派作品占到将近一半，而巡回画派的作品几乎没有，这点让人不可理解，总之，内容上的问题确实不少，不推荐入门者购买，以免误人子弟。
