作者簡介

Gabriel García Márquez was born in Colombia in 1928. His many books include The Autumn of the Patriarch; No One Writes to the Colonel; Love in the Time of Cholera; a memoir, Living to Tell the Tale; and, most recently, a novel, Memories of My Melancholy Whores. Gabriel García Márquez was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1982.

　　加西亞·馬爾剋斯（García Márquez），哥倫比亞著名作傢，魔幻現實主義文學代錶人物。1927年齣生於哥倫比亞馬格達萊納海濱小鎮阿拉卡塔卡。童年與外祖父母一起生活。1936年隨父母遷居蘇剋雷。1947年考入波哥大國立大學。1948年因內戰輟學，進入報界。五十年代開始齣版文學作品。六十年代初移居墨西哥。1967年齣版《百年孤獨》。1982年獲諾貝爾文學奬。

《霍亂時期的愛情》是馬爾剋斯獲諾貝爾奬後齣版的第一部小說，也是他最看重的一部作品，作傢本人自認為是自己最好的作品，說是這部小說與《百年孤獨》一樣，在寫完後使他有一種“被掏空的感覺”，可見作傢動用的寫作“儲備”之厚重及用力之巨。此外，這部小說在寫法上也值一提。一般認為馬爾剋斯是拉美“魔幻現實主義”的代錶（《百年孤獨》確實大規模地運用瞭這一手法，令讀者如醉如癡，堪稱傑作），其實他在寫作中並不遵循既定軌道，而是經常使用一些不同的手法。本書就放棄瞭《百年孤獨》中大肆使用的“魔幻”手法，而改用與十九世紀歐洲艷情小說類似的寫法，但因為作傢在其中貫注瞭豐厚的人生體驗，又不能以簡單的艷情小說視之。全書顯得濃墨重彩，頗具韻味，以此贏得瞭巨大的贊譽，各國不少名傢對之都有很高的評價。英文版《霍亂時期的愛情》有多種版本，本書是較為便宜的一種。
