Since then I've written and illustrated many picture books and written several novels. I like the variety of trying new ways to fill the pages between two covers. Experimenting with words and paint and ink keeps my job interesting."

俗話說，做事要三思而行。在我的教學中我是深有體會的。記得初為人師時，走上課堂，結果講課捉襟見肘，纔發覺自己掌握的知識隻是在學校學的一些皮毛,平時書讀的太少。看看人傢魏書生、韓軍、李鎮西等“那一代”教育上的大傢，他們在講課時對學科知識的係統整閤和靈活調度，豐富廣博的社會科學、自然科學、人文科學知識的信手拈來，教育學、心理學、新課程理念的自如運用，這些都是讀書讀到一定程度上纔具有的遊刃有餘。作為一位物理教師不能隻知道牛頓定律，也必須對其他知識有所知曉。這樣，教師在課堂上、在生活中，纔能“胸藏萬匯憑吞吐，筆有韆鈞任翕張”，纔能引經據典，妙語連珠，給學生以知識的充實和心靈的震撼。

最早，我也很功利的希望Jerry能夠多看一些英文書，甚至減少中文書的購買。這樣可以提高Jerry的英文水平。但當你持續實施閱讀時，你真的會發現，語言隻是一種文字。我們不應該過分關注於“學語言”，而是應該堅持“閱讀”，閱讀孩子想看的書。對書的內容做一些篩選和把關。同時，擴充孩子看書的廣度。孩子就像一塊“海綿”，他/她對未知的世界其實都很好奇，你給他/她什麼，她/他就會吸收什麼。
