　　《教育哲学导论》是分析教育哲学的代表性名著，于1957年首次出版，此后多次重印。作者写作此书有两个目的：一个是使此书成为教育哲学的入门书，简单指出哲学与教育理论之间最显著的联系；另一个是为没有接触过哲学的大学和师范学院的学生提供有关哲学思想的简介。因此，本书不仅谈到教育理论与实践的关系，还论述了教育哲学的某些基本方法，其中重点对许多教育概念、术语及有关问题提供了充分的、语言文献学意义上的解释。

作者简介

　　 丹尼尔·约翰·奥康纳(Daniel John O'Connor，1914—2012)，英国语言分析哲学家、教育思想家。1914年出生于美国西雅图，毕业于温布尔登学院。1933年进入英国教育部工作，后以在职身份进入伦敦大学伯克贝克学院，获古典文学博士学位。1947年在美国芝加哥大学获哲学硕士学位，师从逻辑实证主义大家鲁道夫·卡尔纳普。历任英国北斯塔福德郡大学、利物浦大学和埃克塞特大学的哲学教授。主要著作有《教育哲学导论》、《自由意志》以及《真理符合论》等。
