內容簡介

　　《綠野仙蹤（英文版）》又譯《奧茲國的魔法師》，講述的是堪薩斯草原上的小女孩多蘿西的神奇經曆。多蘿西與小狗托托被龍捲風吹到奧茲國，途遇稻草人、鐵皮人和獅子，通過曆險分彆得到瞭勇氣、善心和智慧。續集《奧茲仙境》寫小男孩蒂普用生命藥粉使假人南瓜頭和一匹木馬獲得生命，從而使奧茲國真正的主人奧茲瑪公主迴到瞭翡翠城。
　　《綠野仙蹤（英文版）》自1900年首版即受到青少年讀者歡迎，再版無數，後又製成舞颱劇和電影，在全世界成為曆久不衰的經典著作。

作者簡介

　　鮑姆（Frank Baum，1856-1919），美國著名童話作傢，一生創作童話60餘種，有“最受歡迎的故事大王”之稱。
　　鮑姆齣生在富裕的石油商人傢庭，年輕時寫作瞭一部音樂劇《阿蘭少女》，父親死後傢道中落。為求生計，鮑姆從事過許多職業，一度還曾做過推銷員，正是這種艱辛的生活造就瞭這位童話王子，他一邊旅行一邊搜集素材。鮑姆的代錶作為《綠野仙蹤》及十幾種續集；另外有《魔法島》、《仙島》、《美麗榖的魔法師》等佳作。
